Omar Merced is an award winning costume designer/ seamster and choreographer based in Massachusetts. For over 30 years his unique work has been recognized in regional and national dance competitions earning him, his custom costume clients and dance students countless awards.

 Omar's designs have been featured in Revolution/ 10th House (2024), showcasing his exceptional talent and innovative approach. Renowned for his craftsmanship and quality of work, he has become a sought-after collaborator among designers. Most recently, Omar had the great honor of working on a collaboration with Tiger Friday! 

As a choreographer Omar is keenly aware that costuming is the most important part to complete a concept. His journey in costume design began with one of his first soloists he trained in the early 1990's. He recalls the undeniable magic that happened when his student put on that custom made costume.  He has mastered recreating that same magic for hundreds of other dancers, throughout the years. There is no doubt his custom creations bestow empowerment to the dancer on the stage.
